Davutoglu promises to stop sending troops to northern Iraq

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in a letter to his Iraqi counterpart Haider al Abadi that his country will not send additional forces to Bashiqa in Iraqi Kurdistan.

"No further forces will be deployed to Bashiqa until concerns of the Iraqi government are overcome," Interfax cited him as saying.

He also pledged that Turkey respects the Iraqi sovereignty and integrity.

According to him, Ankara will continue to support Iraq in the fight against Daesh. "We should not let those disturbed about our cooperation reach their targets," Ahmet Davutoglu said.
