Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey is concerned about the operation conducted by the Russian air forces in Syria, but there is no threat of confrontation between Moscow and Ankara.
"Our communication channels with Russia remain open," the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports.
According to Davutoglu, Russia informed Turkey about the operation in Syria, without disclosing the details. "We are concerned about yesterday’s operation conducted by the Russian air forces in Syria," he said, adding that these "actions are directed against the Free Syrian Army."
"The attack on those targets is clearly supporting IS and the Syrian regime, which is on the verge of collapse. I don't think it will be of benefit to destroy the moderate opposition," RIA Novosti cited the Turkish Prime Minister as saying.
