Today, all admirers of Muslim Magomayev's art give tribute to this talented artist, seven years have passed since the date of his death.
Today in Moscow, according to tradition, the monument to the singer in Voznesensky Lane will host a ceremony dedicated to him. It will be attended by friends and admirers of Muslim Magomayev, including his widow, USSR People's Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya, the founders of the Fund of cultural and musical heritage of the musician Aras Agalarov and Emin Agalarov, and others.
Today at 14:10 on Channel One of Russian TV, the premiere of the documentary film 'Muslim Magomayev. In the First Person.' will be shown. Emin Agalarov and director Mehdi Mammedov worked on it for several years. While writing the script of the film, they used manuscripts of unpublished memoirs of the singer, TASS reports.
Muslim Magomayev was born on August 17th, 1942, in Baku. Later he graduated from the Baku Conservatory.
The singer became famous all over the country in 1962, after a performance in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses during the Festival of Azerbaijani Art. The following year he became a soloist of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theatre. In1964-1965, Magomayev passed training at the famed Milanese opera house 'La Scala'. After that, he successfully performed in the largest cities of the Soviet Union, as well as abroad, particularly in Paris.
Muslim Magomayev was only 31 when he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Musical records with songs of Magomayev were released in huge quantities. The repertoire of the maestro consists of more than 600 works. He is the author of more than 20 songs, music for films, author and host of a TV cycle about the life and work of Mario Lanza. The artist wrote a book about this singer. Magomayev starred in films like 'Nizami', 'Muslim Magomayev Sings' and 'Moscow in Notes'. One of the minor planets of the solar system is named after him.
Muslim Magomayev died on October 25, 2008.
