De Mistura to chair Syria talks in Astana

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura will chair the upcoming talks on Syria in Astana on November 28-29, de Mistura's office said in a statement.

"The Special Envoy, in consultation with the Secretary-General, accepted to be in Astana where, within the framework of the Geneva process and in accordance with Security Council resolution 2254, he will chair a meeting with senior representatives of Iran, Russia and Turkey in their capacity as the conveners of the Sochi meeting of January 2018," de Mistura's office said in a statement.
