Ukrainian media, describing the situation in Crimea, are reporting false information, deliberately distorting the picture for the purpose of misleading their audience, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic, Ruslan Balbec said.
As an example, he cited the detention of a Ukrainian citizen in Sevastopol, who was suspected of murdering two people on August 21. According to the vice-premier, despite the fact that at present all the facts indicate the likely domestic nature of the offense, the Ukrainian mass media portray his compatriot as a victim of political persecution.
‘’Crimes committed on a domestic violence base occur not only in Russia. But it is a crime committed in Crimea, the defendants in which were two young people, Crimean Tatars by nationality, interpreted by some Ukrainian politicians and voiced in the Ukrainian media as the alleged continuation of a policy of persecution of the Crimean Tatars," Ria Novosti quotes him as saying.
