Celebrations of the 2000th anniversary of the city of Derbent has started in this Dagestani city.
29 national homesteads started working on the central square of Derbent, representing the lifestyles and the cuisines of the 13 peoples of Dagestan and 16 other regions of Russia, Interfax-South reports.
National ensembles are performing on the square, music is playing, folk festivals are taking place, and activity organizers are also working there.
