Derbent to host days of Jewish Culture

Days of Jewish culture 'Shalom, Derbent' will take place on September 22-27 in the Museum of the history of world cultures and religions in Derbent as part of the celebrations of the 2000th anniversary of the city.

The first day of the festival will be dedicated to the musical creativity of the mountain Jews. The third day of the festival will be dedicated to theater, there will be performances by theater companies from Derbent and the Derbent region.

Derbent will also open the photo exhibition 'The Jewish community of Dagestan through the centuries' and literary readings 'Shalom, Derbent'.

During the final day the organizers will present the youth project 'The history of my family' and a round-table discussion titled 'Tolerance among young people'.
