Silk Avia, which is being created by Uzbekistan Airports, will use French-Italian aircraft ATR 72-600.
Currently, Uzbekistan Airports is in line to receive liners, Rano Dzuraeva, chairperson of the company's board, said.
"In the world approximately 75% of all regional traffic is carried out on the ATR. We will lease these aircraft. We need at least six pieces. We plan that they will arrive before the first quarter of next year", she said.
The ATR aircraft consumes four times less fuel than the A320, Dzuraeva noted.
The average ticket price on Silk Avia flights will be $25. The first flights will connect Samarkand and major cities of the republic, in total about 40 regional routes will be launched.
