Dilijan tunnel closed for repair works

According to the Ministry of Transport of Armenia, the Dilijan tunnel is closed for repair works. The shortest route from the Tavush region to Gegharkunik is due to be restored after today’s accident resulted in fire.

Due to a fire, accompanied by an explosion and damage to the tunnel ventilation, traffic on the tunnel was blocked. ‘’Based on the security considerations, the tunnel will be temporarily closed for repair works,” Sputnik-Armenia news agency reported.
