Discussion of new Turkish Constitution to be postponed until next year - media

The forthcoming discussion of the next year budget will not allow Turkey's parliament to begin discussing the draft of the new Constitution until January - early February 2017, Haber Turk newspaper reports.

The situation is also complicated by that fact Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has prepared two drafts of the new Constitution project.

Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim said on Sunday that the project of the new constitution and the presidential system is ready to be sent to parliament.

"We have finished our work on the new Constitution and the presidential system. We are going to submit out draft for parliamentary approval as soon as possible," he said.
