Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has visited Derbent today, where he inspected the museum complex ‘Peter the Great's House', as well as one of the local schools.
Employees of the museum complex assured the prime minister that 80% of Peter the Great's House has been saved. Dmitry Medvedev took the opportunity to be photographed near the museum together with the head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, and the Minister for Development of the North Caucasus, Lev Kuznetsov.
"Peter the Great's House in Derbent is part of our common Russian history. Good luck to Derbent and its inhabitants. I congratulate you on your 2000th anniversary," Medvedev wrote in the museum's guest book.
