Dmitry Ushakov: Baku has a lot of experience in organizing international gymnastic competitions

Azerbaijan has a lot of experience in organizing international gymnastic competitions, so no one doubts that tomorrow's World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling will be held at the highest level, Russian athlete, Olympic silver medalist Dmitry Ushakov said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Azerbaijani organizers have a lot of experience - last year they held on of World Cup stages, two years ago - the first European Games, which were organized at the same level as Olympic Games. So I think no one will doubt the organization of these competitions, I'm sure everything will be fine," he noted.

According to him, theatrical illumination, when athletes can be clearly seen and the audience is not, has become the main surprise of this tournament for athletes.

"We hope everything will be fine. Personally, I'm very interested in performing in such conditions, it's an experiment. I think it's great," he said.

The new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. 85 trampoline and tumbling gymnasts from 15 countries will take part in the competitions on the basis of the new Code of Points coming into force in 2017. The qualifications will take place on February 18, finals will be held on February 19.
