Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that more than 50 terrorism suspects have been detained across 32 provinces in a major security operation.
According to the minister, 51 individuals have been detained in operations targeting ISIS, which is designated as a terrorist organization in Russia. Preliminary information indicates all detainees were active members of the group.
Yerlikaya stated that investigation revealed the suspects provided financing to so-called "aid organizations" with terrorist links and promoted extremist ideology through social media channels.
During searches conducted nationwide, authorities seized numerous documents and digital materials related to ISIS activities.
The operations were conducted simultaneously across 32 Turkish provinces.
