Seven people were killed and 35 injured in a bus-truck collision on Al Jelis Street in Dubai on Tuesday.
The bus was carrying 41 people, including the driver, which led to the high number of fatalities.
Director General of Traffic Department at Dubai Police said preliminary report indicates that the mishap happened after one of the bus tyres burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The bus veered off the road and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Ambulances and rescue vehicles took stock of the situation. The injured were rushed to the hospital, Khaleej Times reported.
As many as 22 people trapped in the bus were rescued.
