Dvorkovich against withdrawal of ruble revenues from oil sector

Today Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said that he is against increasing the mineral extraction tax (MET), supporting the oil industry.

According to him, the changes must be careful and moderate in such sensitive areas. "The Ministry of Finance assumed that it is impossible, as it could lead to serious consequences for the industry. The calculations are continuing,’’ Gazeta.ru cites Dvorkovich.

However, he stressed that he is against raising the tax burden in all commodity sectors of the Russian economy. The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the potential resource in other areas is very small. "You can stretch the whole sector, but the effect will be minimal. There is no sense in doing this," concluded Dvorkovich.
