EU: U.S. has no right to ask for returning anti-Iran sanctions

The United States has no right to demand the return of sanctions against Iran because it exited the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the European Union’s foreign-policy chief Josep Borrell said.

"The U.S. unilaterally ceased participation in the JCPOA," he stressed.

"It cannot, therefore, be considered to be a JCPOA participant State for the purposes of possible sanctions snapback foreseen by the resolution," Bloomberg cited Borrel as saying.
