In the EU discussions are underway to lift sanctions on some Russians imposed in connection with the situation in Ukraine, Bloomberg writes, citing sources familiar with the situation.
According to the information provided, about 30 individuals went to court, demanding that the sanctions be lifted. In addition to this, about 10 more people contacted the EU directly.
On Wednesday, the EU Legal Service notified the EU Permanent Representatives that some of the requests were "justified" as the sanctions were imposed on "weak grounds".
In this regard, the agency notes that "discussions are underway in the EU about the possible lifting of sanctions against certain individuals".
