EU extends economic sanctions against Russia

The European Union extended its economic sanctions against Russia, European Council President Donald Tusk said during summit of the bloc's leaders he was chairing in Brussels.

"EU unanimously prolongs economic sanctions against Russia given zero progress in implementation of Minsk agreements," Reuters cited Tusk as saying.

According to Tusk, it was a political decision. The EU sanctions against Russia will be prolonged for another six months with the official rollover expected next week.
