EU foreign ministers are set to discuss the Syrian settlement, as well as the conclusions of Sunday's Paris conference on peace in the Middle East on Monday, European Union sources said.
It was uncertain whether they would issue a statement, with Britain and some central European countries reluctant to upset the incoming Trump administration, according to a European diplomat.
"Of course, the EU is in contact with Russia," RIA Novosti cited a senior EU source as saying.
