EU intends to prolong sanctions against Crimea

EU sanctions against Crimea that are to expire on June 23th will be extended, a senior representative in the EU stated today.

"The position of the EU is clear: the sanctions will remain in force as long as the sovereignty of Ukraine is not restored. The situation in Crimea hasn’t changed and the sovereignty is not restored. Accordingly, the sanctions will remain in force,’’ the representative informed, noting that the formal decision has not been accepted yet, Tass reports.
