The European Union considers a ban on the transit of goods through Russia. These measures may be included in the 11th EU sanctions package aimed at preventing circumvention of existing restrictions.
The European Union may accept the proposal of Poland, Estonia, and Lithuania to ban the transit of goods through the territory of Russia, Bloomberg informs.
“The EU intends to consider imposing a ban on the transit of many goods through Russia (...). It can affect a wide range of technologies and products, including several types of vehicles,”
It is specified that these measures may be included in the next package of sanctions against Russia.
Earlier, the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the 11th package of sanctions against Russia would be mainly aimed at preventing circumvention of existing restrictions.
