EU Ambassador to Georgia Paweł Herczyński said the bloc had frozen 30 million euro in support for Georgia from the European Peace Facility in response to the adoption of the foreign agents law by the Georgian Government earlier this year.

The envoy stressed that Georgia’s EU accession has been put on hold.

"Unfortunately, they  have agreed to suspend Georgia's EU membership process. This is clearly stated in the reports of the European Council," Herczyński said.

The EU has also frozen its support for Georgia from the European Peace Facility - 30 mln euro for 2024.

According to him, the EU was considering other measures “if the situation further deteriorates”.
