The EU plans to lift some of the sanctions on Russian banks to facilitate the export of food and fertilizers, Reuters reports.
It is noted that sanctions can be lifted from banks VTB, PSB, VEB, Sovcombank, Novikombank, as well as Otkritie and Rossiya. According to the agency, these banks will be involved in the purchase of Russian agricultural products.
The EU also intends to facilitate the export of food from Russian ports, the service of which has been suspended due to the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions.
The draft document states that approval will follow when it is determined that "these funds or economic resources are necessary for the purchase, import or transportation of agricultural and food products, including wheat and fertilizers".
