EU to provide 231 million euro support for Georgia

The Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has left for Brussels today to hold a meeting with the EU officials, including President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker.

Georgia and the EU will sign several deals tomorrow in Brussels, which will provide up to 231 million euro in support for Georgian education, economy and businesses.

"The high level meeting is a new and a unique format of cooperation that the EU has initiated only with Georgia and no other countries. The format indicates the dynamics of Georgia-EU relations and provides opportunities for further enhancement of ties," Agenda.ge cited the Georgian Foreign Ministry as saying.

The economy, trade and communications, education, science, culture, innovations, justice, internal security and civil protection will all be among the issues discussed at  the meeting.

During the visit, Bakhtadze is also scheduled to meet with the European Council President Donald Tusk.
