A 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit Iran's Qeshm island, Khaleej Times reported citing the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
According to the EMSC, the quake occurred at a depth of 47km, reported Sputnik News.
Tremors were felt in parts of UAE as well, posts on social media suggested.
Some residents in Sharjah reported feeling light tremors.
