Egypt intends to sign contracts with Rosatom on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt in May of this year, a member of the energy committee of the Egyptian parliament Higyazi al-Baz said today.
"This project must be implemented as soon as possible. Egypt should have used this technology years ago. We must switch to nuclear energy and other renewable energy sources, protecting the environment and overcoming the shortage of electricity," he said.
