Eight soldiers killed in PKK car bomb attack in Turkey’s Hakkari

Eight soldiers were killed and another five were injured on Oct. 9 when outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants staged a car bomb attack targeting a military post in the eastern province of Hakkari, the Turkish Armed Forces has announced, Hurriyet reports.

The militants detonated a bomb-laden car at the Durak gendarmerie post in Hakkari’s Semdinli district in the morning hours during a vehicle and identity check.

Eight soldiers were killed and five others were wounded in the attack, the military said.
