Emomali Rakhmon visits Ashgabat

Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon goes to Turkmenistan this evening, his official visit will last until August 21.

"It is expected that following talks, Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will sign a joint communique and an agreement on cooperation in the field of library science, a program of cooperation of the foreign ministries of the two states, a cooperation program on television and cinematography, a program of cooperation in the health sector," the press service of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Also, the leaders of the two countries will discuss transport and energy issues, in particular, the construction of a railroad from Turkmenistan to Tajikistan through Afghanistan, since these republics do not have a common border, Interfax notes.
