Erdogan: Istanbul attack aims to set Turks against each other

Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Istanbul nightclub attack aims to set Turks against each other and deepen fault lines, but the country won’t fall for this game.

He made the comments in a live speech from Ankara, the first time he has publicly addressed the nation since the New Year’s attack that killed at least 39 people.

The president highlighted that Turkey will not fall for such plots and Turkish people will keep their unity and solidarity despite differences.

"All our citizens need to approach the issue with a responsible mindset and speak and act accordingly," the Daily Sabah cited him a saying.
