Peaceful Syria is of historical significance for the inhabitants of the country itself as well as Turkey, Russia and Iran, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
According to him, these three countries will play an important role in Syria's future. At the same time, the burden of hosting the Syrian refugees is falling on Turkey, which has a long border with Syria.
"A ceasefire in the Syrian city of Aleppo and Astana talks is an important step," he said, adding that the Geneva talks to be held in February is also important in order to achieve goal.
Erdogan said that along with the United States' position after the election of President Trump, the efforts of the countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar will effectively contribute to the solution to the Syrian issue, QNA reports.
