Turkey will not leave Syria until the Syrian people hold an election, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
"Whenever the Syrian people hold an election, we will leave Syria to its owners after they hold their elections," Erdogan said at a forum in Istanbul.
On Turkish troops’ presence in Syria, the Turkish leader said: "The people of Syrian invited us there. 'Come here to save us,' they said."
Ergodan added this was the case in the Syrian cities of Idlib and Afrin. "Turkey will continue to support the oppressed people in Syria," the president added.
