Erdogan: We would not have downed the aircraft if we had known it belonged to Russia

The Turkish government would have taken another decision if they had known that the aircraft attacked by Turkey belonged to Russia. This statement was made by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"If we had known that it was a Russian aircraft we would have prevented the violation of Turkish airspace in any other way," Tass cites his interview for France 24.
