Erdogan accuses U.S. and EU in interfering in Venezuela affairs

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed disbelief that democratic countries in the United States and the European Union have backed a coup attempt by opposition leader Juan Guaido against elected President Nicolas Maduro.

"The European Union has resorted to illegitimate ways to topple a legitimate government in Venezuela," Erdogan said, calling undemocratic measures "unacceptable," Daily Sabah reported.

While addressing the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting, the Turkish leader said Turkey cannot accept imperialism.
