Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the 'safe zone' in Syria would stretch 440 km along Turkey’s border, with its eastern edge on its border with Iraq.
He added that a depth of 32 km was agreed on with the United States.
Erdogan said that U.S. and Turkish officials would be in constant contact to implement the agreement together, Reuters reported.
Yesterday, Turkey agreed to suspend its military campaign in northeastern Syria for 120 hours. The parties also agreed on setting up a safe zone on the border with Syria.
