Erdogan: situation in Idlib unacceptable for Ankara

Developments in Idlib are unacceptable for Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

Speaking in Ankara, he said developments in Idlib, where Turkey has peacekeeping forces, were "not at a desired level."

"There has been harassment [fire] against our monitoring towers, Number 9 and 10, in Idlib. Necessary warnings have been made [to Russia] following our meeting with Mr. Putin," Daily Sabah cited Erdogan as saying.

"Developments in Idlib are unacceptable, Syrian migrants are now pushing north trying to enter Turkey," the Turkish leader stressed.
Earlier today, Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Russia assured that Turkish observation posts in northwest Syria would not be attacked.
