Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would take “necessary” further steps in northeastern Syria after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 22 in Sochi, the day that a five-day ceasefire expires.
"We will take up this process with Mr Putin and after that we will take the necessary steps," the Turkish leader told a forum in Istanbul hosted by broadcaster TRT World, Reuters reported.
On October 17, Turkey agreed to pause the operation east of the Euphrates River for 120 hours to allow the withdrawal of YPG/PKK terrorists from the planned safe zone.
