Ergobank that worked with ROC loses license

The Central Bank of Russia revoked the license of Ergobank today. As stated in the official report, the reason for this decision was that the bank did not fulfill federal laws and the regulations of the Central Bank.

It is noteworthy that Ergobank worked with some of church organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to the source, the Russian Orthodox Church decided to open an account in this bank because of Valery Meshalkin, who owns 19.87% of the shares.

"A churchgoer, an Orthodox businessman, who helped many places of worship. It was assumed that this was a guarantee that nothing bad would happen to the bank," RBC quotes a source as saying.
