The euro and dollar exchange rates dropped below 59 rubles on Moscow Exchange on Tuesday, according to trading data.
As of 10:07 am Moscow time, the euro exchange rate was down by 0.04% at 59.2 rubles, while the dollar was up by 0.34% at 59.01 rubles.
The euro hovered around $1.004 on Monday afternoon, down about 12% since the start of the year.
