The position of the EU on prospect of abolition of the visa regime with Turkey remains unchanged, this time it was voiced by the head of the European Parliament Martin Schulz: either Turkey fulfills the conditions of the EU, or abolition of visas in October of this year will not happen, Daily World News reports.
“Talks in the Turkish Parliament about changes in relevant laws should start immediately. If this does not happen, then the European institutions will not be able to fulfil their road map. Then I don’t see the possibility of abolishing the visa regime for Turkish citizens in October,” Schultz told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
