Russia is not yet ready to ban imports of European wine or confectionery, because it will adversely affect domestic consumers, Russian Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev said.
"We are primarily based on the interests of consumers and if we will ‘close’ wine, confectionery or something else, this may severely affect the balance of foods in our country," TASS cited the minister as saying.
"We do not produce enough wine to fully meet the demands of the domestic consumer," Tkachev said.
