The Summer Youth Olympic Festival in Baku is organized at the highest level, Belarusian tennis players Evelina Laskevich and Maria Stetsevich, who beat their rivals from Bulgaria in the quarterfinals, told Vestnik Kavkaza.
“We like everything very much, everything is organized really well, the opening ceremony was very spectacular. We were impressed, it was fantastic,” Stetsevich noted.
Laskevich stressed that athletes like to perform at competitions in Baku, and that she hopes to win the finals.
The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
