Italian coach Massimo Carrera has been nominated to coach Iranian football club Esteghlal.
The ex-Juventus defender has most recently coached Russian football club Spartak Moscow. The 55-year-old coach was dismissed in October 2018.
Carrera started his coaching career as Juventus technical director in 2011 and was appointed as the Italian team caretaker in 2012. He also worked as Italy assistant coach from 2014 to 2016.
Esteghlal general manager Amir Hossein Fathi had already said the team’s next coach will not be an Iranian coach, Tasnim reported.
