The Cabinet of Ministers has addressed the regions of the Russian Federation with a request to reduce expenditure on the 2018 FIFA World Cup. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov urged to revise the regional program.
According to experts, the main aim of this measure is to get rid of the so-called mediator companies and find cheaper conditions for the construction of facilities.
In summer, expenses of the 2018 FIFA World Cup were reduced from 664 billion to 631.3 billion rubles.
