In the center of Istanbul an explosion has occurred on a busy pedestrian street, resulting in casualties and injuries, Turkish media report.
The incident occurred on the pedestrian tourist street of Istiklal, located in the Beyoglu district. Ambulances arrived at the scene. The reasons for the explosion are not known yet, RIA Novosti cites the reports.
According to preliminary reports, the explosion claimed the lives of two people and injured seven.
