Explosion near Dzhemikentsky post is first terrorist attack in Dagestan for three years

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee has confirmed that a bomb equivalent to 30 kg of TNT was used in the car explosion near the Road Patrol Service post in the Derbent region of Dagestan.

The committee also added that two police officers were killed and seven more were injured. Six civilians were also injured.

According to security officials, the explosion was organized by members of the Yuzhnaya sabotage and terrorist group, which is headed by Hasan Abdullayev (Abu Yasser).

The Daesh terrorist group, which is forbidden in Russia, has taken responsibility for the explosion.

The explosion, arranged by a suicide bomber, became the first terrorist attack in Dagestan of such a kind in the past three years.
