A large explosion on Thursday struck a highway near the town of Hani in Turkey, wounding several people, Hurriyet newspaper reported.

Ambulances were dispatched to the scene, they said. Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion from miles away, Trend reports.

The blast near Hani follows a car bomb attack near a military facility earlier in the day in Istanbul that wounded seven people, and another car bombing in Diyarbakir on Wednesday that targeted police and killed three people.
