The FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics started in Baku. The event started with group A qualifying performances. Gymnasts will perform at the National Gymnastic Arena with the hoop and the ball. Similar performances will be held today in the individual all-around of group B.
The official opening ceremony will take place at 15:30 MSK. The day will be finished with qualifications in group performances with five ribbons.
Tomorrow qualifications in individual and team programs will continue: gymnasts will compete in individual finals in performances with the clubs and ribbon, as well as group exercises with three pairs of clubs and two hoops. At the end of the day the winners in the individual and team all-around will be awarded.
On the World Cup’s last day the individual and team finals will be held in all kinds of exercises. A gala concert and the official closing ceremony of the tournament are to follow.
The final 10th FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku is attended by 26 famous athletes and 9 teams from 17 countries, including Russian athletes Yana Kudryavtseva and Margarita Mamun. Marina Durunda and Zhala Piriyeva represent Azerbaijan in the individual program and the team, composed of Siyana Vasileva, Ayshan Bayramova, Alexandra Platonova, Diana Doman and Elif Zeynep Celep will represent Azerbaijan in the team program.
Since this is the final of the annual World Cup, the awarding ceremony will be special: the gymnasts and groups that have shown the best results at the previous nine series of the tournament will be awarded.
