Fans' House continues Olympic traditions in Baku


The Fans' House will open at the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku tomorrow. Anastasia Grigoryeva, the House's spokeswoman, said that the Fans' House will continue the tradition of the Russian Olympic Committee, which started at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. The House was greatly hailed by fans, and President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach called the House exemplary.
Grigoryeva noted that the House will be open from 10.00am to 9.00pm for all visitors. It will boast an exposition specially collected for the First European Games. Most of the space will be taken up by a historical exposition of the State Sports Museum of Russia, which will include a collection of bows (dating back to 1960). Modern professional equipment will be displayed at the exposition. Visitors will take photographs with bows, rapiers, special gloves and other sports items.
The opening of the Fans' House will be attended by President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, Presidential Aide and Vice President Igor Levitin, Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin, Vice President of the Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Aza Ragimov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Lyubov Glebova and other notable guests.
The House will stay open throughout May 12-28.
