Farhad Hajiyev: Azerbaijani youth has closest ties with Russia

No other country in the world has such close ties with Azerbaijan in the field of youth relations as Russia, the Executive Director of the Youth Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan, Farhad Hajiyev, said, speaking with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the conference, dedicated to the Republican Youth Day.

"Today communications between the Azerbaijani and Russian young people are at the stage of development. First of all, the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) actively cooperates with the Russian youth organizations and, in fact, it is integrated into the Russian youth community, being a member of the National Council of Youth Organizations," he noted in the first place.

"Every year we hold a forum of Azerbaijani and Russian youth - alternately in Russia and Azerbaijan. Young people of our countries are actively involved in all the forums held in Azerbaijan and Russia. We closely cooperate at the international platforms and support each other's initiatives. In 2017, Russia will hold the World youth festival, and our young people will also participate in it," Farhad Hajiyev said.

This year, the Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum will be held in Azerbaijan. "It is our turn to hold it, and we strive to hold the Forum at the highest level. Recently, I participated in a meeting of our Minister of Youth and Sports with the director of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Hope that this meeting will provide an even greater impetus to the development of our relations," the official stressed.

In general, according to him, youth relations between the two countries are on the rise. "We hope that our relations will further strengthen and develop. Our country need to know more about each other, and as Heydar Aliyev said: "Young people are the future of their country", so we want Russia will learn more about Azerbaijan through the youth and their activities," the Executive Director of the Youth Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan concluded.
