Festival "North Caucasus: Synthesis of Peace, Synthesis of Arts" opens in St. Petersburg

Festival "North Caucasus: Synthesis of Peace, Synthesis of Arts" is opening today in St. Petersburg  at the site near Naryshkin’s bastion of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

Guests of the event will be able to get acquainted with variety of arts of the Caucasian peoples. Festival's program includes eight-hour gala concert, tasting of national dishes, folk games and dances, and much more.

According to Denis Petrov, director of the Department of Administrative and Human Resources of the North Caucasus Affairs Ministry, the main goal of the event is to introduce North Caucasus to wider audience. "This is a very bright, distinctive, tradition-rich macro-region, we love it very much and we want you to love it too. On this day, a small part of the hospitable St. Petersburg will turn into hospitable North Caucasus," he told reporters on the eve of the festival.

Over hundred artists of the North Caucasus will perform during the event, including dancers, singers, musicians, and poets, who will take part in a large flash mob dedicated to beauty, diversity and richness of the region's culture.
